The Willows 173

J Boyle 53, B Cameron 37*, C Seabourne 5/27

St Bede’s College 71

H Pavey 4/12

The Willows
won by 102 runs

We won the toss and batted on a good track, but soon found ourselves in all sorts of bother at 2/4 then 17/5 before Justin Boyle (who couldn’t find his glasses) and Bruce Cameron formed an excellent partnership of 100. With a bit of a late flurry the Willows managed 173.

The pick of the bowlers was Chris Seabourne with the outstanding figures of 5/27.

St Bede’s found the going very tough against the spin trio of Stephen Boock, Fraser Hawes and Hamish Pavey, and fell short of the target by 102 runs.

The player of the match award went to Hamish Pavey with 21 not out and 4/12.
