Losing the toss on an excellent batting surface proved crucial in the final outcome of this match.
Right from the opening over, the Wanderers batsmen dispatched the ball to all parts of the ground with regular monotony. With a combination of very good batting and at times wayward bowling, the final score of 267 for four could have easily been higher. Agent was unlucky to be dismissed five runs shy of a deserved century.
Unfortunately, with wickets falling too regularly, the halfway mark was reached with only four wickets in hand. Andrew Nuttall bowled extremely tightly and his four wickets were well deserved.
A brilliant day for cricket, but a disappointing one for the Willows players who once again saw the Roger Macfarlane Trophy disappear through the gates on its way back to Cheviot.
From seven games against Hawkswood, The Willows have now only won once!
