The Willows
won by 125 runs

On an overcast morning the Willows won the toss and batted. Early drizzle helped upset the St Andrew’s opening bowlers. A second wicket partnership of 93, in faster than even time, by St Andrew’s Old Boys Paul McEwan and Peter Joyce, gave the Willows a good foundation. Paul McEwan, who made 73 off 50 balls, including 11 fours, demonstrated that the old master has lost none of his touch. A sixth wicket partnership of 71 between Jonathan Davidson (66 not out) and James Hantz ensured a good total for the Willows. The best of the St Andrew’s bowlers was Adam Chambers who finished with three wickets.

When St Andrew’s batted, Wade Cornelius and Josh Coll gave the batsmen a torrid time. Mter the opening spell of 13 overs, the score was 29 for three. A tight ten overs by Andrew Nuttall, and St Andrew’s never looked like reaching the target .
