The Willows
won by 135 runs

Once again the excellent facilities, playing surfaces and overall organisation set the basis for a very enjoyable match.

After winning the toss, “The Willows” batted first, setting a formidable total of 295/5. A superb century by Derek Burrell with good supporting roles from Edlin, Bromley and Sparks always ensured a big total would be reached. All the Swamphen bowlers came under the hammer from Derek’s endless search for the boundary fence.

The Swamphens started their innings slowly, but at 76/3 after 16 aoers were still in with a chance. Soon after, however, the wheels fell off their innings with the side being bowled out for 160.
