In the unaccustomed position of captain, Geoff Miller was in the more accustomed position of being undefeated as captain of a Willows side against the Flaxton Wanderers.

Mr John Gardner duly arrived with his team for morning tea but was met with a heavy shower which started at 9.30am and continued to 11.45am at which time the game was officially abandoned. Thereafter, a salad lunch and cup of tea, mixed with convivial company saw both teams planning the return fixture which Mr Gardner has changed from the 17th to 18th February, giving him extra time to ‘adjust his wicket’.

The Willows Committee was delighted with Mr Miller’s performance at being undefeated.

(Mr Gardner further changed the date from the 18th to 24th February in order that he may have more time for practice to improve his game).
