The Willows won the toss and elected to bat first on a pitch that was being used for its third consecutive match. Heavy overhead conditions prevailed but both teams were hopeful of an exciting match.
Peter Fulton made the most of his early opportunity. Making a very classy 53, he dominated the attack and was unfortunate to be dismissed when looking to hit the ball to the fence. The Willows were lucky to have John Reid as a team player, his first outing for the Club. Although he also took the attack to the opposition he was denied a big score because of rain and finished 33 not out.
Heavy rain set in and ended cricket for the day, the result therefore a draw.
