The club congratulates Roger Moses, ONZM on being awarded the CNZM for services to education and Kieran Read on his ONZM for services to rugby in the recent New Year’s Honours list.
We also extend our congratulations to our immediate past president Sir John Hansen, KNZM on his appointment as Chairman of the Canterbury Hospital Board and Major Campbell Roberts (Salvation Army), CNZM on his appointment to the Parole Board.
The club was delighted to learn recently of the appointment of Willower, John Wright, MBE, as President of the Derbyshire County Cricket Club. Best wishes in the role John.
Matfen Hall, host to Willows scholars over many years, has won the gold award for the category of best large hotel of the year in the North East Tourism Awards announced in April 2020 — congratulations from all at The Willows.
Finally, we were thrilled at the news that Tom Latham has won the Redpath Cup for the 2019/20 season.
It is awarded to the best NZ batsman in first-class cricket, which includes Test performances.
