It is surprising how often even well-established sporting clubs cannot define their core values or – beyond winning matches – their real objectives.
Any club in this predicament should look no further than I Zingari Australia Cricket Club. Reprinted below is a comprehensive list of core values which represents how they want their club to present itself to members and the wider community.

“I Zingari” comes from Italian and, literally translated, means “the gypsies”. So originally, it was a wandering club but today it hosts games at the picturesque Camden Park, Sydney as well as playing some away games.
The distinctive club colours are black, red and gold, indicating “out of darkness through fire into light”.
Two players dominate for I Zingari (Australia) in cricket. Bill Douglass played a phenomenal 788 innings for a career total of 15,957 runs. And with the ball, the late Barry Eastment has taken more wickets than any other bowler by a country-mile – 2,292 wickets at 15.27 (from a staggering 10,717 overs). These club playing records are unlikely ever to be surpassed.
