The annual fixture with Burnside High School was set for a good match as The Willows had been victors the previous year and Burnside were looking at reversing that result.

The Willows were asked to bat on what looked a sporting pitch with plenty of grass cover. Openers, Matthew Brinie and Andrew Fullerton-Smith set a solid platform of 53 for the first wicket before Brinie was LBW for 18. The batting momentum was then led by David Bond and Corey James. Both players were in positive moods with James reaching 49 off 55 balls and David Bond looked at ease making 64 before being bowled by Duggan. It was left to some later order hitting by Andrew Ellis with a rapid fire 35 to steer The Willows through to a respectable 232/9 after 50 overs. Stevenson led the Burnside High attack supported with good contributions from Sheat, Batty and Duggan.

In reply Burnside made a sold start with Chandrasena top scoring with 42. Ollie Hutton, taking 3/14, spearheaded The Willows bowling supported by Andrew Ellis. Mike Hastings and Alan Smith applied the brakes on the Burnside charge taking three cheap wickets between them,

Burnside were finally dismissed for 184. The final score did not reflect the closeness of the game watched by the many parents and supporters from the school who were in attendance.
