J Pawson 64, D Sawyers 63, A Johnstone 31 , D Broom 30

Otago BHS 191

B White 59, T Dagg 36

The Willows
won by 62 runs

The Willows won the toss, batted first and as appears to be the case against schools were soon three wickets down for 27, until Andrew Sawers and Darren Broom rescued the innings with Jason Pawson chiming in with a well compiled 64.

Of the bowlers L Wright, who opened the bowling, maintained good line and length and was rewarded with three useful wickets.

Chasing 253, OBHS started promisingly with T Dagg scoring a very attractive 36, followed by B White who top scored with 59. The batsmen encountered difficulty in handling the medium pacers of Mike Mclntyre who claimed 5/30.

Although OBHS failed by 62 runs they bowled, batted and fielded with a great deal of enthusiasm with several promising performances from their players.
